Job summary

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis seeks a Senior Computational Research Scientist to analyze data from second- and third-generation sequencing to interrogate gene regulatory biology in health and disease.

The successful candidate will lead projects, develop novel computational methods, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to publish findings in high-impact journals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Computer Science, or related field.
• Master's degree or PhD strongly preferred.
• Minimum experience: 7+ years in relevant computational biology roles.
• PhD with 2+ years experience or Master’s with 5+ years can be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead computationally focused scientific research projects with increasing independence over time.
• Collaborate on project and analysis design under the guidance of multiple invested PIs.
• Set personal task-level priorities across multiple interconnected projects.
• Develop new computational methods pertaining to regulatory circuitry.
• Apply and integrate omics pipelines for technologies like CHiP-Seq/CUT&RUN/CUT&TAG, ATAC-seq, HiChIP/HiC, RNA-seq.
• Adhere to field and lab standards for data analysis.
• Identify, process, organize, interpret, review, and report relevant data.
• Direct data collection and present research to colleagues; draft manuscripts with minimal supervision.
• Maintain regular attendance and participate in meetings.
