Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team seeks a Senior Computational Designer, Data Centers & Industrial Projects Specialist to advance AI-assisted workflows and automation across architecture, engineering, BIM, and digital delivery.

The role involves prototyping proofs-of-concept, coordinating with in-house development and IT, and transitioning successful tools into scalable, billable project delivery. A strong engineering design background is essential.

Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit, Dynamo, Rhino.Inside.Revit, Speckle, the Revit API, and custom computational design components.
• Experience with BIM-integrated computational workflows and project-ready automation.
• Professional experience applying computational design to data centers, industrial facilities, or mission-critical projects.
• Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, C#, JavaScript) with emphasis on reliability and usability.

Responsibilities

• Apply computational design methods to data center, industrial, mission-critical, and advanced manufacturing projects.
• Develop parametric and data-driven workflows connecting geometry, program, planning criteria, and documentation outputs.
• Support early design exploration and layout evaluation with practical computational methods.
• Collaborate across architecture, electrical, mechanical, and digital delivery teams to improve coordination.
• Translate project challenges into reusable workflows and delivery methods for future projects.
• Lead automation opportunities and build/balance solutions that are maintainable and scalable.
