Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Computational Designer to join the Design Computing team. You will develop computational workflows, automate BIM tasks, and prototype solutions for data centers, industrial facilities, and other complex projects.

You will collaborate with Senior Designers and project teams to translate needs into scalable, reliable BIM-enabled workflows and contribute to firmwide design technology innovation.

Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit, Dynamo, Rhino.Inside.Revit, Speckle, the Revit API, and custom computational design components.
• Experience with BIM-integrated computational workflows and project-ready automation.
• Professional experience applying computational design on data centers, industrial facilities, mission critical projects, or similar complex technical building projects.

Responsibilities

• Apply computational design methods to data center, industrial, and mission-critical building projects.
• Develop parametric and data-driven workflows linking geometry, program, and engineering inputs.
• Build Revit-based automations using Dynamo, Grasshopper, Python, C#, and related tools.
• Test proofs of concept against real project needs and coordinate with platform teams for scalability.
• Define KPIs, communicate value, and support adoption across project teams.
