Commercial Tool Group in Michigan is seeking a skilled Compression Mold Maker to turn engineering intent into durable, production-ready tooling. You will build, assemble, repair, and maintain compression molds, validate fit and function, and support tryouts to ensure high-quality launches.

You will collaborate with Program Managers, Tool Designers, CNC Machinists, and Manufacturing to drive continuous improvement while adhering to safety standards and customer specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Journeyman Mold Maker certification or DOL apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years mold building/repair/toolmaking experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings/CAD, GD&T; knowledge of tool steels/heat treat.
• Spotting/benching/polishing/venting/fit-up skills; familiarity with milling/grinding/drilling/EDM.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, repair, and maintain compression molds.
• Execute engineering changes and troubleshoot issues to protect quality and safety.
• Validate fit and function through inspection and tryouts.
• Collaborate with Program Managers, Tool Designers, CNC Machinists, and Manufacturing for reliable launches and continuous improvement.
