Job summary

Solidify Manufacturing in Rogers, MN seeks a Tool and Mold Maker to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mold tooling for high-volume production molding operations. You will work with seasoned colleagues to keep tooling running smoothly and avoid production downtime.

Candidates should have hands-on machining experience with molds and tooling, be able to read blueprints, operate mills and lathes, and work with precision to meet tough tolerances.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of relevant experience required (CNC, Swiss, Mold Making, etc)
• Previous machining experience maintaining plastic injection molds and related tooling preferred
• Experience in setup and operation of manual mills, lathes, and grinders preferred
• CNC machinist experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance including lubricating, cleaning, polishing, and deburring of molds and related components
• Repair molds to support production demand and the manufacturing machine operators
• Works with Sr. Tool and Mold Maker on disassembly, repair, and re-assembly of heated manifolds, runners, water lines, cores, cams, and ejector pins
• Fabricate and build mold components such as ejector pins or blades
• Follow blueprints and engineering drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances
• Set up and operate tool room equipment, including manual mills, lathes, and grinders
• Use a variety of tool maker and machine tools
• Use a variety of precision toolmaker measuring instruments
• Participate in mold and design for manufacturability reviews
• Maintains organized work area to maximize efficiency and safety
• Work independently with no supervision
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift up to 40 pounds
• Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing-pulling, and reaching throughout the entire shift.

• Ability to operate heavy machinery
