Job summary

ExxonMobil is seeking a technical expert to advance the ProxximaTM polyolefin thermoset systems business in Baytown, TX. You will support customers globally, demonstrate cycle time, weight, and performance advantages on composite fabrication equipment, and collaborate with commercial colleagues across North America and beyond.

The role requires a BS in engineering or materials science, 5–10 years in thermoset composites with VARTM, and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Engineering, Material Science, or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of experience fabricating or supervising manufacturing of thermoset composites using VARTM.
• Working understanding of thermoset chemistry in systems such as epoxy, polyurethane, vinyl ester, or polydicyclopentadiene.
• Experience in reaction injection molding (RIM) and/or high-pressure resin transfer molding (HPRTM) is a plus.
• Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support for customers producing composites via vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM).
• Assist customers in optimizing their process to run ProxximaTM resins and, where needed, provide guidance on equipment upgrades.
• Lead application development projects utilizing VARTM equipment located in our Baytown facilities.
• Provide technical insights to help guide new application developments.
• Provide market insights to inform and update business strategy.
• Develop novel technology to strengthen the portfolio of intellectual property.
• Train and mentor less experienced colleagues.
