Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Advanced Composite Engineer to participate in all phases of product development and serve as a technical point of contact for less experienced engineers. You will report to the Engineering Manager and work on a hybrid schedule.

The role focuses on composite materials, bonded assemblies, and advanced material systems for gas turbine products, with travel of 10–20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in composite materials or manufacturing.
• Experience with layup, cure, bonding, molding and inspection.
• Familiarity with industry standards for composites.
• Understanding of mechanical behavior and material characterization.

Responsibilities

• Develop, characterize, and qualify composite material systems.
• Support composite suppliers through manufacturing processes.
• Evaluate defects and drive root-cause investigations.
• Lead testing to generate material allowables and validate processes.
• Interpret drawings and flow requirements to suppliers.
• Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Generate and maintain process documentation and specifications.
• Provide mentorship to early-career engineers.
