Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace seeks an Advanced Composite Engineer to drive development of composite materials and processes at our Phoenix, AZ site on a hybrid schedule. You’ll contribute across all product stages for gas turbine components, guiding suppliers and early-career engineers.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and travel ~10–20% as needed, supporting aerospace structures and advanced material systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
• 3+ years of experience in composite materials or manufacturing processes.
• Experience with fabrication methods (layup, cure, bonding, molding) and inspection.
• Familiarity with industry standards for composites and processing.
• Understanding of mechanical behavior and material characterization.

Responsibilities

• Develop, characterize, and qualify composite material systems.
• Support suppliers through manufacturing processes and audits.
• Evaluate defects and drive root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Lead testing to generate material allowables and validate processes.
• Interpret drawings and ensure process requirements flow to suppliers.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to resolve processing issues.
• Generate and maintain process documentation and specifications.
• Mentor early-career engineers in Materials Engineering.
