Job summary

Western States Equipment is seeking a skilled technician in Washington to disassemble and reassemble major machine components, qualify parts for reuse, and reference CAT manuals and SIS Web for technical issues. You will generate detailed service reports and support teammates while upholding safety and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Associate Degree from a vocational school preferred or equivalent work experience.
• 2–3 years minimum experience on heavy equipment in Caterpillar or similar environment with component rebuild experience preferred.
• Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).

Responsibilities

• Disassembles and assembles major machine components efficiently, correctly and safely with some technical assistance.
• Qualifies all parts for reusability with some technical assistance.
• Looks up and orders parts utilizing SIS, TMI with little or no assistance.
• Uses Cat technical information, including service manuals, operations manuals, SIS Web, TMI, SIMSI and STW to address technical issues.
• Writes detailed and accurate service reports for every component repair.
• Performs all required tasks in accordance with printed procedures.
• Assists other technicians as needed.
• Handles all customer inquiries in a prompt and professional manner.
• Adheres to all customer care standards.
• Actively cares and advocates safety at Western States. Adheres to all applicable safety policies, procedures and standards.
• May accomplish training and serve as a team member in support of Western States’ strategic programs, projects, and initiatives.
• Work within and promote corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
