Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Component Engineer to join our U.S.-based team in a remote capacity. The role requires U.S. citizenship and a strong background in electronic components and obsolescence management.

You will collaborate with suppliers, generate source-control drawings, support program requirements and environmental applications, and help standardize parts across the BOM to enable successful design reviews.

Qualifications

• BS STEM degree with 5+ years engineering experience.
• Advanced degree +3 years experience acceptable.
• Experience mitiga­tion of obsolescence and part selection.
• Experience with multiple skills: mitigation for obsolescence issues, interconnect solutions, project plans.

Responsibilities

• Perform component obsolescence management and risk coding to determine lifecycle status.
• Work with suppliers to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Generate and revise source control drawings.
• Perform alternate part investigations and generate comparison matrices showing the differences and similarities of the parts.
• Understand program requirements and statements of work (SOW).
• Determine program component environmental/characteristic application requirements.
• Provide technology insertion and parts selection/standardization guidance while adhering to constraints.
• Interface with internal stakeholders and external suppliers/manufacturers to develop component risk and verification delineation.
• Create component verification data packages with supporting data.
• Coordinate BOM in the program toolset and collaboration environment.
• Present component standardization and risk results in PDRs/CDRs.
