Responsibilities

  • Manage component obsolescence, including active/obsolete status determination and risk coding
  • Coordinate, audit, and communicate with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Generate and update source control and interface drawings (SCDs, VICDs, SIDs, etc.)
  • Perform alternate part evaluations and prepare detailed comparison matrices
  • Define component environmental and performance requirements for program applications
  • Provide guidance on technology insertion, part selection, and standardization within parametric, environmental, and circuit constraints
  • Work with internal teams and external suppliers to assess component risks and establish verification plans
  • Create comprehensive component verification data packages
  • Deliver applications engineering support to integrated product teams (IPTs)
  • Lead component selection and library use through BOM development and collaboration toolsets
  • Present component standardization, design library updates, obsolescence status, and termination finish risks during PDRs/CDRs
  • Support Product Development Engineering (PDE) in an agile environment, including BOM scrubs, obsolescence and supply chain management, Tin Whisker/Gold Embrittlement assessments, documentation control, and alternate part reviews
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the development of CCAs used in mission-critical applications
  • Develop a strong foundation in component engineering practices applicable throughout your career
  • Learn to perform component obsolescence management and risk coding
  • Gain experience communicating, auditing, and collaborating with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Learn to generate and revise source control drawings (SCDs, VICDs, SIDs, etc.)

The selected candidate will support Parts, Components, and Applications Engineering activities across all program phases, including proposal, system design, LRIP, production, and sustainment. What You Will Do

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
