Job summary

First Bank (FBNC) is seeking a Testing and Monitoring Compliance Analyst II to evaluate and execute complex compliance reviews across key business operations. You will develop and enhance testing programs, exercise independent judgement to assess risk exposure, and provide corrective recommendations to support regulatory compliance.

The role requires plan-and-run execution of reviews, strong communication with regulators, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to the bank's risk management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or five or more years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent oral/written communication skills along with excellent organizational skills.
• Must demonstrate strong leadership abilities.
• Must be dedicated to the goals and visions of the organization.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of bank personnel and bank regulators.
• Must be detail oriented, while being versatile and able to multi-task.
• Must have strong familiarity with operational and administrative functions of a financial institution.
• Must have strong working knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to financial institutions.

Responsibilities

• Independently plans, coordinates and executes compliance testing and monitoring reviews using established methodologies to evaluate adherence to laws and internal policies.
• Maintains proficiency in compliance testing and monitoring to support departmental priorities and risk-based schedules.
• Analyzes complex data, identifies root-cause vulnerabilities, and formulates independent findings with corrective actions.
• Develops and enhances testing methodologies and risk-assessment frameworks for evolving regulations.
• Directs issue-remediation processes and evaluates corrective action plans for effectiveness.
• Evaluates corrective actions and performs follow-up reviews to ensure controls are strengthened.
• Acts as a department liaison during internal and third-party reviews by coordinating requests and documentation.
• Adheres to corporate policies, laws, and regulations including BSA/AML.
