Job summary

Northern Trust in the United States seeks a senior technology leader to own compliance surveillance platforms, guiding eCommunication, trade and employee ethics monitoring initiatives across the enterprise.

You will drive architecture, lead design reviews, evaluate AI/ML capabilities, and partner with vendors and Compliance Technology teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions while upholding governance and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering or solution architecture experience.
• Experience supporting Compliance, Surveillance, AML, or trading monitoring platforms.
• Hands-on experience integrating platforms like Global Relay, TradingHub, ACA, Smarsh, NICE Actimize or Behavox.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML, analytics, anomaly detection and surveillance use cases.
• Experience with SaaS integrations, APIs, event-driven architectures and cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of data security, encryption, and access controls in enterprise environments.
• Experience with data governance, metadata, lineage, and reporting frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for eCommunication, Trade, and Employee Ethics Surveillance platforms.
• Partner with Compliance Tech Managers and Engineering Leads to deliver capabilities and enhancements.
• Lead solution design reviews, data sources, and regulatory requirement assessments.
• Evaluate AI/ML capabilities to improve detection, monitoring, and investigative workflows.
• Ensure governance, security, and explainability across surveillance platforms.
