Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to drive the AI-powered Code Security Scanner platform across frontend, backend, and cloud services.

You will own platform modernization, design secure, scalable architectures, integrate Azure AI Foundry and LLM-based security analyses, and steward automation, CI/CD, and observability to deliver reliable vulnerability reporting for enterprise codebases.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Platform Ownership: lead technical development for the AI Code Scanner platform.
• Front-End Development: enhance the React-based web application and UX.
• Backend & AI Engineering: extend Python services and integrate AI Foundry & LLM analysis.
• DevOps & Automation: design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and workflows.
• Cloud Engineering: design Azure-based services and security controls.
• AI & Automation: implement agent-based workflows and automation frameworks.
• Security: ensure SSDLC, authentication/authorization patterns, and vulnerability management.
