Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking a Compliance Manager to oversee portfolio-wide compliance for affordable housing programs and lead the Compliance team. This in-office Dallas role ensures accurate resident file review, strict adherence to LIHTC, HFC, PFC and CHDO requirements, and timely regulatory reporting.

You will interpret evolving regulations, train onsite teams, and drive process improvements to minimize risk while maintaining data integrity and fair housing compliance across properties.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressively responsible affordable housing compliance experience, including tax credit, bond, HUD, or similar programs.
• At least 2 years of experience leading audits, processes, staff, or property-team training across multiple communities.
• Ability to interpret affordability requirements and evaluate income, assets, eligibility, rent restrictions, documentation.
• Experience managing findings and corrective action through resolution.
• Experience overseeing programs, workflows, reporting, and deadlines across multiple properties.

Responsibilities

• Oversee portfolio-wide compliance for affordable housing programs, including LIHTC, HFC, PFC, CHDO, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Interpret and communicate compliance regulations, program requirements, and policy changes to ensure consistent execution across the portfolio.
• Manage the resident file review and approval process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with all governing requirements.
• Lead compliance quality assurance efforts, identify areas of risk, and implement corrective actions and process improvements.
• Supervise, develop, and support Compliance Specialists, establishing performance, quality, and turnaround standards.
• Serve as the primary compliance resource for Operations leadership and onsite teams, providing guidance, training, and support on complex compliance matters.
• Monitor property performance against program requirements, set-asides, income restrictions, and reporting obligations.
• Oversee compliance-related reporting, agency submissions, audits, and external regulatory relationships.
• Lead compliance technology, systems, and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of resident records and ensure adherence to fair housing and documentation standards.
• Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and best practices that support operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
