Job summary

Allied Residential, Inc. seeks a meticulous Compliance Assistant to support the Community Manager in ensuring properties meet regulatory and company standards. You will prepare and review resident files, verify eligibility, and assist with recertifications to keep records audit-ready.

You’ll help onsite teams interpret affordable housing rules (HUD/LIHTC), coordinate with leasing, and support compliance during lease-up and staffing changes.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of property management, affordable housing, or compliance experience.
• Familiarity with LIHTC and HUD regulations is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in a professional, collaborative style.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite; experience with remote work platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review move-in, interim, and annual recertification files for completeness and compliance.
• Verify income, assets, and household eligibility per regulations and policies.
• Maintain organized resident files for audit readiness (electronic and hard copy).
• Respond to requests for documentation during reviews and audits.
• Generate and track monthly recertification notices and status updates.
• Provide progress reports to Community and Portfolio Managers on open files.
• Assist teams with applying affordable housing requirements (HUD, LIHTC).
• Support marketing and resident engagement during lease-up, including sessions.
• Offer temporary compliance support during staffing transitions or surges.
• Attend compliance meetings, trainings, and team initiatives.
