CAROLINA LEGAL ASSOCIATES in Columbia is seeking a seasoned Complex Litigation Paralegal to join our premier team and partner directly with senior counsel to manage multi-party, high-value medical malpractice cases from inception through trial and appeal.

You will oversee electronic discovery lifecycles, organize thousands of medical records, coordinate expert witnesses, and draft discovery and trial documents while maintaining strict deadlines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal handling complex litigation.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology.
• Experience drafting discovery and trial documents.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee large-scale electronic discovery lifecycles; manage document data rooms and review processes.
• Analyze and organize thousands of medical records to identify critical issues and causation links.
• Coordinate expert witnesses, disclosures, reports, and cross-examination materials.
• Draft and manage complex discovery pipelines, including interrogatories and requests to production.
• Prepare legal documents: motions, pleadings, trial documents, subpoenas.
• Conduct background research on healthcare institutions and maintain master calendars for deadlines.
• Construct trial binders, manage exhibits, and coordinate courtroom logistics.
