Job summary

BCG Attorney Search seeks a Complex Liability Defense Attorney in Costa Mesa, CA to join a defense litigation team. The role offers a flexible hybrid or remote work arrangement and focuses on handling a broad spectrum of defense matters from intake through trial.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of defense litigation experience, CA admission, a JD from an ABA-accredited school, and strong analytical and communication skills. Experience with catastrophic injuries and product liability is a plus.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in California.
• 8+ years of defense litigation experience.
• Experience with catastrophic injury, product liability, construction defect, habitability, transportation, or other general liability matters.
• Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions.
• Experience cross-examining plaintiffs and other fact witnesses preferred.
• Experience handling court appearances, depositions, and trial experience a plus.
• 2nd chair trial experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices.
• Independently manage a litigation caseload from beginning to end.
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports.
