Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; JD preferred.
• Juris Doctorate is preferred for complex claims work.
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days, where applicable.
• Prior negotiation experience is advantageous.
• Professional designations such as CPCU are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages an inventory of highly complex litigated claims with large exposures, following company protocols to verify policy coverage, conduct investigations, develop resolution strategies, and authorize disbursements within authority.
• Ensures exceptional customer service by managing all aspects of the claim and providing timely updates.
• Verifies coverage and establishes reserves by interpreting policy language and collaborating with coverage counsel on complex matters.
• Leads focused investigations to verify facts, gather contracts or documents as needed.
• Negotiates complex settlements and participates in mediations and trials to resolve files.
• Maintains budgets and ensures timely claim resolution with appropriate resources.
