Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Major Case Specialist in the Strategic Resolution Group to manage highly complex toxic tort, latent injury, environmental, and excess claims with significant financial exposure. You will apply advanced knowledge of law across jurisdictions, develop case strategies, and mentor others while ensuring optimal customer service.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience; licensing may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 7+ years of toxic tort, latent injury, environmental claim and coverage determination experience.
• Must have High School Diploma or GED with 4 years of relevant liability claims or SRG experience; licensing may be required within three months.
• Ability to acquire and maintain Insurance License(s) as required.

Responsibilities

• Authority to make payment and resolve matters up to $500,000; manage total exposure often over $1,000,000.
• Conduct coverage research and analysis for complex claims and prepare recommendations.
• Investigate liability, assess damages, and advise on cessation or strategy.
• Manage files strategically, coordinate with counsel, and lead or represent the unit on special projects.
• Provide coaching and mentoring, and ensure consistent account management and reporting.
