Job summary

Munich Re Specialty - North America is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist for the Complex Team. You will direct all aspects of in-house and third-party administered claims, collaborating with counsel, experts, and vendors to drive optimal outcomes across multiple casualty and specialty lines.

Travel is anticipated to 10–15%. The role requires a Bachelor's degree (Law degree preferred) and 10+ years of relevant experience, with strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills to navigate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10+ years of experience in handling high exposure casualty and/or specialty claims.
• Understanding of technical claims proficiency and execution of best claim practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and time management of claims desk.
• Strong business acumen and ability to collaborate with other departments and vendors.
• Customer-service and relationship oriented.
• Willingness to travel (~10% - 15%).
• Maintain valid adjuster licenses in states assigned or ability to obtain them.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and assess claims for coverage and damages, pursue recoveries and subrogation.
• Manage investigations, coordinate with counsel and vendors for optimal outcomes.
• Assess coverage issues, policy forms, and regulatory requirements.
• Set reserves with a strategic vision for claim outcomes.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners for client meetings and product improvement.
• Present high exposure claims to leadership and stakeholders.
