Job summary

CNA Insurance is seeking a Complex Claims Consultant to manage large law professional liability claims globally from a hybrid CNA office location. You will evaluate coverage, assess liability and damages, set reserves, negotiate settlements and direct litigation with counsel.

In this role you’ll lead investigations, coordinate with claim teams and business partners, manage budgets, and mentor junior professionals while delivering timely, high-quality service to policyholders and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. JD preferred.
• Typically a minimum six years of relevant experience, preferably in claim handling.
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire, where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Manage an inventory of highly complex professional liability claims with specialized technical expertise and coordination.
• Verify coverage, conduct investigations, develop and employ resolution strategies, and authorize disbursements within authority limits.
• Ensure exceptional customer service by managing all aspects of the claim and responding promptly to inquiries.
• Lead focused investigations to determine compensability, liability and covered damages, gathering documents and statements as needed.
• Resolves claims by collaborating with partners to develop and execute settlement strategies and manage litigation with counsel.
• Establish claim budgets and oversee resources for timely resolutions and high-quality service.
• Address subrogation, salvage opportunities or potential fraud occurrences as appropriate.
• Maintain compliance with state/local regulatory requirements and stay current on trends in the industry.
• Mentor and train less experienced Claim Professionals.
