Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• Typically minimum six years of relevant experience in Professional Liability claim handling or law firm experience in Professional Liability matters.
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire, where applicable.
• Prior negotiation experience.
• Professional designations preferred (e.g. CPCU).

Responsibilities

• Manages an inventory of highly complex litigated claims with large exposures.
• Verifies coverage and establishes reserves by reviewing policy language and coordinating with counsel.
• Leads investigations to determine liability and damages.
• Negotiates complex settlements and participates in mediations and trials as needed.
• Mentors and trains less experienced claim professionals.
