Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a senior competition lawyer to lead a growing regulatory team. Based in San Francisco or Washington, D.C., you will guide regulatory strategy, manage responses to regulators, and support OpenAI's M&A program.

The role requires a JD, in‑house and law‑firm experience, and a strong command of antitrust issues in a fast‑moving tech environment. You will partner with Corporate Legal and Development teams to navigate regulatory scrutiny, advise on business strategy, and develop

Qualifications

• 10+ years of antitrust experience.
• JD and license to practice in the relevant state.
• In‑house and top‑tier law firm background preferred.
• Experience with competition regulators is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support OpenAI's engagements with global competition authorities and respond to RFIs.
• Advise on regulatory clearance for acquisitions and strategic transactions.
• Develop and deliver competition-law enablement resources and campaigns.
• Collaborate with Corporate Legal, Corporate Development and policy teams on regulatory strategy.
• Provide strategic, business‑aligned legal advice on competition law matters.
