Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an experienced attorney to lead global trademark litigation and enforcement, directing strategy across jurisdictions and coordinating with outside counsel.

Based in San Francisco with a hybrid work model (3 days in the office) and relocation assistance. You will build scalable processes, mentor the trademark team, and advise senior leadership on complex brand protection issues.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading complex trademark litigation and disputes.
• Experience at technology companies or top law firms.
• Global portfolio strategy, clearance, enforcement and brand protection.
• Ability to advise senior leadership on strategic legal issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead global trademark litigation and disputes, including infringement and brand protection.
• Develop and execute global trademark strategies, manage outside counsel.
• Oversee trademark clearance, prosecution and portfolio management.
• Provide updates and guidance to senior leadership on disputes and risks.
• Build scalable risk-assessment processes and cross-functional decision making.
• Mentor and develop the trademark team and related staff.
