Job summary

NPAworldwide is seeking a Senior Compensation Consultant in Chicago, IL to provide expert guidance on compensation strategy and advisory services for senior HR leaders. This hybrid, full-time role focuses on complex projects, client relationships, and thoughtful compensation design.

The role requires at least 8 years in compensation consulting, strong analytics, and proven leadership. You will mentor junior staff, advise executives, and help expand business with innovative compensation solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, or a related discipline.
8 years of experience in compensation consulting or a closely related HR advisory field.
Demonstrated expertise in compensation strategy and consulting.
Experience managing complex projects and client engagements.
Strong knowledge of compensation programs, market analysis, incentive plans, compensation technology, and applicable regulations.
Proven ability to advise senior executives and manage client relationships.
Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and leadership capabilities.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and approach complex problems proactively.

Responsibilities

Lead the planning, execution, and quality review of complex compensation consulting projects.
Develop compensation philosophies, strategies, structures, and programs aligned with clients' talent objectives.
Advise senior leaders on pay competitiveness, job architecture, compensation strategy, incentive design, and technology-enabled implementation.
Analyze compensation data and translate findings into practical recommendations.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
Oversee project teams and coach less-experienced consultants.
Manage multiple complex engagements while maintaining high-quality deliverables and deadlines.
Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and develop new business.
Stay current with compensation technology, analytics, regulatory considerations, and AI-driven solutions.
Contribute to innovative approaches, thought leadership, and client-facing solutions.
