Job summary

ONE Gas, Inc. is seeking a senior compensation leader to guide strategy and governance for compensation programs across the organization. You will partner with executive leadership, HR, and business leaders on complex matters, including job evaluations, design of structures, and equity considerations.

The role drives market competitiveness, internal equity, and regulatory compliance while shaping governance and education around pay practices for large-scale initiatives and enterprise projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and additional work experience.
• Typically, 8–10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience designing and administering compensation programs and policies.
• Experience with market pricing, salary structures, incentive design, and job evaluation.
• Consulting with senior leaders on strategic compensation matters.
• Experience leading enterprise-wide projects and influencing stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling abilities.

Responsibilities

• Influences development and continuous improvement of compensation programs, policies, and strategies.
• Acts as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and HR leaders on complex compensation matters.
• Performs complex compensation analyses including market pricing, pay equity, and off-cycle reviews.
• Designs and implements compensation structures, salary administration, and incentive plans.
• Shapes job architecture, career frameworks, leveling methodologies, and job evaluation practices.
• Leads large-scale compensation initiatives and enterprise-wide projects with cross-functional teams.
• Develops executive-level materials and recommendations for governance committees.
• Delivers compensation education, communication, and change management strategies.
