Job summary

UNC Charlotte is seeking a highly skilled Senior Classification and Compensation Consultant to drive excellence across the university’s workforce infrastructure. In this pivotal role, the consultant evaluates complex position classifications, determines FLSA and EHRA exemptions, conducts market and internal equity reviews, and advises administrators and HR partners on effective job design.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, plus 5+ years in compensation analysis.
Experience with compensation software, HRIS, salary benchmarking, and market pricing.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong analytical skills.
Excellent communication and ability to translate data into business recommendations.

Responsibilities

Performs market and equity analysis of positions to assess salaries and address compensation issues.
Analyzes market data to assess range updates and compensation administration for competitiveness.
Conducts position evaluations, design recommendations, and determines exemption status (FLSA and SHRA/EHRA).
Advises campus and HR partners on compensation matters and program design.
Ensures compliance with laws and prepares reports on compensation trends and metrics.
