Job summary

Perplexity is hiring a Compensation Lead to build the compensation function and own its day-to-day execution. You will design programs and processes that support hiring, recognition, and retention, balancing structure with practical, clear guidance for employees.

You will develop salary ranges, pricing across locations, and play a primary role in offers, equity considerations, and ongoing compensation decisions, ensuring consistency and equity.

Qualifications

• Experience building compensation programs: established or rebuilt frameworks and processes and ran them post-launch.

Responsibilities

• Build the compensation foundation: assess practices, data, tools; set philosophy, market position, and cash/equity guidelines.
• Develop salary ranges and market benchmarks; align roles, scope, and leveling with leadership.
• Own day-to-day compensation decisions: offers, promotions, pay adjustments, and inquiries; assess against data and budget.
