Job summary

Oakland University seeks a Compensation and Classification professional to support salary structures, job evaluations, and pay equity across the university. The role partners with HR, leadership, and labor relations to ensure policies align with federal/state rules and collective agreements.

The position requires a Bachelor's in HR or related field and at least two years in compensation, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Two years of related experience in compensation and job classification administration.
• Experience conducting compensation assessments, benchmarking positions, and analyzing market data.
• Extensive knowledge of state and federal regulations in compensation and benefits.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate compensation data, interpret policies and develop recommendations.
• Skilled at presenting to leaders and stakeholders to address compensation challenges.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an expert in compensation and classification.
• Support organizations and leadership in meeting university initiatives and policy requirements.
• Perform job evaluation, classification reviews, and salary/pay equity analyses.
• Process pay-related transactions and maintain pay structures.
• Collaborate with HR colleagues and stakeholders to ensure compliant practices.
