Job summary

NYC Health Department seeks a City Research Scientist to lead a multidisciplinary RET team, guiding data-informed decisions for community behavioral health initiatives. You will supervise staff, oversee data collection and reporting, and help shape evaluation plans to monitor program milestones.

The role requires strong experience in supervision, data analysis, and evidence-based strategies such as motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental science or public health (minimum).
• Doctorate with specialization and required experience, or equivalent combination deemed acceptable.
• At least two years of supervisory/administrative experience in the relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor staff.
• Monitor data entry for RET staff and ensure data integrity.
• Contribute to evaluation plans and data collection systems.
• Develop and review program progress metrics.
• Coordinate with multiple teams on data accuracy and program development.
• Attend CREU meetings and communicate with ED/AC.
