Job summary

FirstService Residential in Arlington, VA is seeking a Community Manager to provide leadership to the Board of Directors and oversee all community operations. You will ensure compliance with governing documents, manage staff, and coordinate budgets and services for residents.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and extensive experience in property operations or related fields, with CPM/PCAM/AMS designations preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field and three years’ experience in Property Operations, Hospitality or Construction; certifications preferable
• Seven years of successful community management experience or equivalent professional experience, with staff leadership
• Experience managing multiple departments and understanding Condominium law, financial planning and property management

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction in the development of short-term and long-range plans; lead annual goal setting
• Review organizational structure and job descriptions; make recommendations to the Board
• Partner with public, private and volunteer organizations to provide community services
• Support the activities of Board sub-committees and ensure adherence to governing documents
• Monitor and report on the monthly financial position of the association
• Recruit, hire, train and supervise all community staff per management plan
• Develop and implement annual budgets with Board approval
• Maintain emergency and evacuation plans in collaboration with local authorities
• Ensure compliance with civil code and governing documents
• Attend and participate in professional group meetings and stay abreast of industry trends

Education

Bachelor's degree in business or related field

Seven years of community management experience

CPM, PCAM, ARM or AMS designations desirable
