Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Senior Community Engagement Manager to lead InCommunities initiatives for the AWS Data Center Community in the America Central region. The role is based out of Chicago, IL or Columbus, OH and supports the business across the America Central region.

This is a strategic role aiming to Dive Deep to support the AWS business. The role requires building relationships with partner organizations, leading a team of engagement managers, and designing sustained community

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional or military experience.
• 10+ years of public policy, government relations, community relations, public affairs, CSR, or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience supporting major infrastructure development projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy development and bespoke execution of Community Engagement expertise for major development projects.
• Lead a team of community engagement managers in the region.
• Design and execute InCommunites signature events and programs; provide vision for sustainable community engagement initiatives across the region; manage with attention to detail and high quality.
• Communicate impact of InCommunities programs internally and externally; represent AWS Infrastructure publicly in meetings with stakeholders; use newsletters, intranet, social media, and email campaigns to drive awareness and involvement.
• Serve as region’s issues leader; address internal and external issues posing reputational risks; act as point of contact for community-centric issues and concerns.
• Support community assessment for new sites in the region; identify risks and develop a community engagement plan to mitigate them.
• Capture data to demonstrate impact on AWS Infrastructure, employees, and the community; communicate values internally and externally.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver results: engineering, operations, real estate, energy, water, sustainability, construction, legal, public policy, PR.
• Be physically on-the-ground in locations and rolled up sleeves when required.
