Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3 years in news, communication, marketing, PR for healthcare or related org.
• Experience in interviewing, writing, editing, or media relations.
• Web content creation, editing, or publishing experience may be considered.
• Event planning experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promotes public recognition of services and achievements with strategic communications.
• Contributes as writer and develops multimedia content including digital video, audio and photography.
• Maintains contact with sources to highlight achievements via news releases and features.
• Interviews faculty and staff on medical topics for public communication.
• Coordinates with other communicators to maintain consistent messaging.
• Plans events with PR/marketing impact.
• Organizes and directs work of staff and students.
• Develops clear communication strategies across the organization.
• Maintains relations with officials and WVU stakeholders.
• Writes ad copy and scripts; coordinates video shoots and website content.
• Roles may include Internet, Publication, News or Corporate Communications focus.
