Job summary

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide. The Senior Commissioning Manager will lead the Commissioning Project Management function and provide portfolio-level oversight for Testing & Commissioning across SOLV Energy projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in EPC commissioning, project management, or delivery of utility-scale electrical or renewable-energy projects.
• Experience leading employees and managing a multi-project or portfolio-level workload.
• Proven experience integrating commissioning activities into project schedules, milestones, budgets, and cross-functional delivery plans.
• Strong understanding of utility-scale solar, battery energy storage, and high-voltage commissioning interfaces.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and elevate project risks, balance competing priorities, and drive cross-functional resolution.
• Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and develop project-management personnel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• PMP or other project-management certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Sr. CPM team with direction, coaching, and accountability.
• Set goals, workloads, and performance standards aligned with objectives.
• Hire, onboard, mentor staff and support succession planning.
• Promote safety, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Standardize the CPM operating model across regions, business units, and project types.
• Maintain portfolio visibility of schedules, readiness, risks, and performance.
• Ensure each project has clear ownership and integrated commissioning plans.
• Oversee cross-functional coordination with PM, Ops, Engineering, Procurement, Construction.
• Monitor staffing needs and advise on hires or assignments.
• Drive issue escalation for energization milestones and customer commitments.
