Job summary

The Technical Field Advisor III, Commissioning at Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. will support commissioning execution across projects, guided by the Commissioning Services Manager.

The role includes planning TFA activities and serving as the focal point for commissioning matters on site. Candidates should have 10+ years of power-plant experience, strong understanding of P&IDs and system diagrams, and capability to travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred; equivalent education/experience may be considered.
• Minimum 10 years of direct power plant experience with gas turbines, steam turbines, or other rotating equipment.
• Commissioning experience with other OEMs is preferred.
• Understanding of commissioning activities such as mechanical commissioning, testing, pipe flushing, and initial plant startup and testing would be beneficial.
• Understanding of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics related to Combined Cycle Power Plant would be beneficial.
• Travel required – up to 20% internationally/domestically.
• Valid driver’s license and passport required.

Responsibilities

• Review project contracts and documentation to effectively prepare and support site commissioning teams.
• Plan, forecast and schedule personnel and resources for site assignments by evaluating project’s progress weekly.
• Support and develop SOPs for planning and executing commissioning activities.
• Read and understand project drawings, P&IDs, process diagrams, and function diagrams related to engineered systems.
• Refine field procedures for commissioning and startup activities with guidance from the team.
• Ensure accurate and complete commissioning documentation for each project.
• Maintain and update internal commissioning documentation and check sheets used by site teams.
