Job summary

Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. is hiring a Technical Field Advisor II, Generator Commissioning in Lake Mary, FL to support commissioning of large gas and steam turbine generators under the site commissioning lead.

The role requires power generation experience, knowledge of HV systems, and the ability to travel up to 90% domestically and internationally. Strong engineering problem‑solving and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent; related field experience considered.
• Power generation experience required; industrial electrical/commissioning background preferred.
• Knowledge of large-frame generators and related systems (transformers, GSU, hydrogen cooling, excitation).
• Knowledge of HV equipment, safety standards (NFPA 70E, NEC, IEEE, NESC) and relay protection.
• Strong analytical and engineering problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with MS Office and SharePoint; capable of documentation and reporting.
• English proficiency required; Spanish/Portuguese/Japanese helpful.
• Willing to travel up to 90% of the year to domestic/international sites.
• Able to lift 25–50 pounds and work in confined spaces and loud environments.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates core competencies and ownership in daily commissioning tasks.
• Follow safety requirements while commissioning generators and auxiliary systems.
• Support startup, operation, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of large-frame generators.
• Read and interpret machine diagrams and control documentation.
• Perform electrical testing (Hipot, Megger, DLRO, VLF) and support protective relays commissioning.
• Support mechanical flushing and commissioning of lubrication and hydrogen systems.
• Complete tests, drawings, reports, and turnover documents for leadership review.
• Provide operator training and communicate effectively with staff and management.
