Job summary

Mitsubishi Power Americas seeks an experienced Technical Field Advisor III, Commissioning to support projects during commissioning execution. You will assist with planning, coordinate resources, and act as a focal point for commissioning matters on site.

The role requires deep power plant experience with turbines and rotating equipment, travel up to 20%, and a drive to improve field procedures and documentation. This is a hands-on leadership position within our Commissioning Services team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred; equivalent combination of education and directly related field experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 10 years of direct power plant experience with gas turbines, steam turbines, or other rotating equipment including steam turbines, gas turbines, generators, and aero-derivatives.
• Commissioning experience with other OEMs preferred.
• An understanding of commissioning activities such as mechanical commissioning, testing, pipe flushing, and initial plant startup and testing would be beneficial for this role.
• An understanding of thermodynamic and fluid dynamic principles related to Combined Cycle Power Plant would be beneficial.
• Travel required – up to 20% of the year, domestically and internationally.
• Always possess a valid and up to date driver’s license and passport.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership.
• Review project contracts and documentation to effectively prepare and support site commissioning teams.
• Plan, forecast and schedule personnel and resources for site assignments by evaluating project’s progress weekly.
• Support and develop SOPs associated with planning and execution of commissioning activities.
• Read and understand project drawings, P&IDs, process diagrams, and function diagrams related to engineered systems.
• Refine field procedures related to commissioning and startup activities with direction from Commissioning Team members.
• Ensure accurate and complete commissioning documentation for each project.
• Maintain and update internal commissioning documentation and check sheets used by site teams during commissioning.
