Job summary

The Church Insurance Companies (CIC) is seeking a Senior Commercial Lines Underwriting Assistant in Vermont to provide advanced underwriting administrative and technical support. You will help maintain efficient underwriting workflows, analyze risk, and leverage technology to improve quality of service for agents and insureds.

You will mentor team members and participate in continuous improvement initiatives while working in a hybrid environment with both remote and on-site collaboration.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in property & casualty insurance or related field.
• Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Strong communication and analytical skills for underwriting support.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document underwriting information from agencies and insureds.
• Prepare work on new and renewal business including loss experience review.
• Order and analyze underwriting reports for underwriter review.
• Review loss control reports and assess risk exposure.
• Support endorsements within authority and timelines.
• Collaborate with agency, billing and claims teams to optimize workflows.
• Help implement new systems, workflows and tech enhancements.
• Mentor and train other underwriting assistants in best practices.
