The Church Insurance Companies (CIC) is seeking a Senior Commercial Lines Underwriting Assistant in Vermont to provide advanced underwriting administrative and technical support. You will help maintain efficient underwriting workflows, analyze risk, and leverage technology to improve quality of service for agents and insureds.
You will mentor team members and participate in continuous improvement initiatives while working in a hybrid environment with both remote and on-site collaboration.

Underwriting is responsible for the collection, review and evaluation of risk exposure to loss, creating insurance coverage, terms and conditions to meet the needs of current and prospective policyholders.
The Senior Commercial Lines Underwriting Assistant provides advanced administrative, technical, and operational support to Commercial Lines Underwriters while serving as a key partner in maintaining efficient underwriting workflows. This role is responsible for supporting complex underwriting activities, identifying opportunities to improve processes and procedures, leveraging technology solutions to enhance effectiveness, and helping ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality service to agents, insureds, and internal stakeholders. The Senior Commercial Lines Underwriting Assistant also serves as a resource and mentor to other team members and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives across the underwriting operation.
Effective performance of the essential functions of this position requires regular in-person, on-site interaction with colleagues, both for purposes of relationship building and meaningful collaboration.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Commuting to the VT office, on average, three days a week. Salary Range: $54,700 - $70,000
