Job summary

Berkley Southeast, a member company of W. R. Berkley Corporation, is seeking a Senior Underwriter in Meridian, MS.

The role focuses on evaluating, pricing, and maintaining commercial lines risks, while partnering with agents and Territory Managers to grow profitable business. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of underwriting experience across CGL, Property, Packages, and related lines, with strong negotiation, communication, and risk assessment skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years commercial lines underwriting experience including CGL, Property, Packages, BOP, Auto, Crime, IM, Umbrella and/or WC.
• Knowledge of commercial lines products and contracts including state regulatory differences.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize.

Responsibilities

• Analyze commercial lines accounts based on risk characteristics and exposure analysis.
• Price business in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
• Partner with Territory Managers to support marketing activities and relationships with agents.
• Train and educate agency staff on products, processes, and underwriting philosophy.
• Travel to assigned agent locations to develop partnerships.
