Job summary

Columbia Bank in Yakima, WA seeks an experienced commercial underwriter to assess C&I and CRE loan requests, including working capital, asset-based lines, CRE loans, and equipment financing.

You'll collaborate with colleagues to present concise credit recommendations, apply risk models, and ensure compliance with bank policies and regulations. On-site role with opportunities to mentor and train others.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of commercial underwriting/credit analysis experience or relevant lending experience.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with strong credit knowledge.
• Ability to train and present to audiences of varying sizes; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites new and renewal C&I and CRE credit requests, including lines of credit and real estate financing.
• Collaborates with CPMs, CSMs and Relationship Managers to present findings and obtain credit approval.
• Analyzes business and financial data; identifies risks and mitigations; documents clear credit reasoning.
• Monitors borrower performance, spreads financials, and ensures covenant calculations align with approvals.
• Mentors junior underwriters or analysts and supports training with QC review processes.
