First American is hiring a Commercial Title Officer / Underwriter to join our National Commercial Services team. You will support and underwrite a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, reviewing title risk and documentation while partnering with clients and internal teams to deliver title solutions.

The role involves multi-site, high-liability deals, with hybrid work in Houston and surrounding areas, and remote candidates outside the Houston area are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial title and/or underwriting experience, including complex transactions.
• Strong knowledge of commercial real estate law, title insurance, and settlement practices.

Responsabilités

• Perform and review complete title searches for commercial transactions, from single-site to multi-site portfolios.
• Analyze liens, judgments, easements, surveys, and vesting documents to determine ownership and risk.
• Provide underwriting support and authorization for commitments, endorsements, guarantees, and policies.
• Use standards and guidelines to evaluate and underwrite title risk and price commitments accordingly.
• Review and approve transaction documentation including deeds and operating agreements.
• Collaborate with attorneys, lenders, and clients to resolve title matters and facilitate closings.
• Provide guidance on underwriting decisions, settlement services, and title resolutions.
• Coordinate national transactions across jurisdictions and stakeholders.
