Job summary

First American is seeking a Commercial Title Officer / Underwriter to join our National Commercial Services team in a hybrid Houston, TX environment. You will underwrite a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, review complex title matters, and collaborate with lenders and clients to deliver reliable title solutions.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in commercial title underwriting, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

5+ years of commercial title and/or underwriting experience, including complex transactions.
Strong understanding of commercial real estate law, title insurance, and settlement practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to build relationships.

Responsibilities

Perform and review complete title searches for commercial transactions from single-site to multi-state portfolios.
Analyze records to determine ownership, identify risks, and verify title conditions.
Provide underwriting support and guidance on issue of title insurance commitments, endorsements, and policies.
Collaborate with attorneys, customers, lenders, and internal teams to resolve title matters and facilitate closings.
Coordinate across jurisdictions to support national commercial transactions.
