First American, a leading provider of commercial real estate services, seeks a Commercial Title Officer / Underwriter to support and underwrite diverse national deals. You will analyze title risk, review documents, and issue underwriting guidance while partnering with customers and internal teams to deliver reliable title solutions.

The role offers a hybrid work setup in Houston with remote options for nationwide candidates.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial title and/or underwriting experience
• Strong understanding of commercial real estate law, title insurance, and settlement practices
• Experience underwriting commercial deals and high-liability transactions preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal and external stakeholders

Responsabilités

• Perform and review complete title searches for commercial transactions ranging from single-site properties to multi-state portfolios
• Analyze records to determine ownership, identify risks, and verify title conditions
• Provide underwriting guidance and issue commitments, endorsements, and policies
• Evaluate title risk using underwriting standards and delegated authority
• Properly price commitments, endorsements, and guarantees
• Review and approve transaction documents including deeds and operating agreements
• Collaborate with attorneys, customers, lenders, and internal partners to resolve title matters
• Support nationwide transactions and coordinate across jurisdictions
