Zusammenfassung

Great American Insurance Group is hiring a Commercial Surety Underwriter. The role can be hybrid with in-office work three days a week and travel within the territory, with offices in locations such as Chicago, Cincinnati, Charlotte, Philadelphia, Dallas, or Los Angeles.

You will evaluate credit, financial statements, and bank agreements, making risk decisions that drive branch profitability while delivering exceptional client service and maintaining integrity and compliance.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Field of Study: Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
• 5+ years of related experience; certifications such as AFSB, CPA, or RPLU encouraged.

Aufgaben

• Understand and analyze business reports needed in underwriting processes, including credit checks, bank agreements, and financial statements.
• Responsible for risk selection/rejection, pricing, retention, growth, and profitability for their branch office.
• Assess risk quality in line with company guidelines.
• Review underwriting of others and recommend extending surety credit terms.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively and maintain high organization across responsibilities.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and timely, informed decisions.
• Operate with integrity and accountability to achieve objectives.
• Use independent judgment to support business goals; coach and develop team.
