Job summary

SouthState Bank in Houston is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Banker to grow and manage a loan and deposit portfolio in a defined metro area.

You will develop consultative relationships with prospects, underwrite loans, price products, and ensure compliance with bank policies. A minimum 12+ years in commercial lending and strong credit analysis are required. This role requires travel within the market and a proven track record of delivering value to clients and communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, banking, or related field is required.
• Graduation from a recognized school of banking is an asset.
• Minimum of 12+ years commercial lending or portfolio management experience.
• In-depth knowledge of Federal and State lending regulations and bank policies.
• Strong sales, interpersonal and negotiating skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in a business development plan to grow loan and deposit portfolios for commercial clients.
• Develop consultative relationships with prospects and clients to deliver banking solutions.
• Underwrite loan requests consistent with bank policies and pricing.
• Collaborate with Treasury Management, Capital Markets, Wealth, and Retail teams.
• Manage and service assigned loan portfolio and ensure required documentation is in file.
• Credit risk grading and pricing according to bank guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable bank policies and regulations.
