Job summary

Hussmann is seeking motivated Technicians to perform maintenance, diagnosis and repair of commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems in supermarkets, convenience stores and cold storage facilities. You will operate independently with minimal supervision and develop first line customer relations while identifying potential sales opportunities.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, diagnosing systems, ordering parts, documenting work, and following safety and company guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record.
• Must be physically able to walk distances, bench and crouch, climb ladders, work at high elevations and lift/carry objects up to fifty pounds repetitively.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented and highly motivated.
• Must have strong mechanical aptitude to include knowledge of basic maintenance tasks and use of hand tools.
• Must be able to work nights and/or weekends as required.
• Working knowledge of basic refrigeration and/or knowledge of commercial refrigeration and HVAC is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, diagnosis and repair of refrigeration, heating & air‑conditioning systems commonly installed in supermarkets, convenience stores and cold storage facilities.
• Operate independently with minimal direct supervision and develop first line customer relations and identify potential sales opportunities.
• Manage truck inventory; orders, receives, bills out and maintains parts with minimal waste; maintain vehicle per company guidelines.
• Complete necessary documents and electronic communication accurately and timely; use handheld devices for paperwork and invoicing.
• Identify, troubleshoot and correctly size thermostatic expansion valves; work with gas refrigerants and oil; perform system checks and tests.
• Lead HVAC/R PM programs and serve as a technical resource to other technicians.
