Job summary

The Portfolio Manager II at Fifth Third Bank is responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial loans and underwriting transactions. This role entails ongoing review and analysis of financial statements and proactive portfolio monitoring to understand borrower performance and risk profile.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of commercial portfolio management experience.
• Strong accounting, credit analysis, and risk assessment knowledge.
• Proficient in financial modeling and risk analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; client-facing demeanor.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an independent forward-looking view on client creditworthiness and communicate it to partners.
• Perform monitoring actions, deal reviews, and renewals or modifications.
• Collaborate with Credit Risk and Relationship Managers to manage exposures.
• Analyze historical financials and projections to ensure accurate risk ratings.
• Oversee underwriting and documentation for transactions including treasury and derivatives.
• Prepare credit recommendations and policy interpretations for business partners.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Mentor junior team members and provide performance feedback.
