Job summary

Fifth Third is seeking a Senior Commercial Portfolio Manager in Atlanta to lead credit risk assessment and portfolio performance. You will partner with Relationship Managers and Credit Risk during deal structuring, pricing and risk ratings, ensuring adherence to policies and regulatory guidelines.

The role emphasizes proactive monitoring, risk identification, and clear communication of risk perspectives to stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial banking, portfolio management, underwriting or related discipline.
Subject matter expert level understanding of accounting, credit analysis, portfolio management, structuring, underwriting, and legal documentation.

Responsibilities

Maintain an independent, forward-looking view of the creditworthiness of each client and communicate risk perspectives clearly.
Analyze historical financials and projections to ensure accurate risk ratings and early identification of issues.
Manage underwriting, approval and documentation for transactions, including renewals, extensions, amendments, and ancillary products.
Review and recommend credit decisions, interpret credit policy, and escalate high-risk requests as appropriate.
Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory guidelines; maintain accurate system records.
